Call customers from the phone you already use while keeping your personal number private. Numberline lets you make business calls from its app, with your business number shown as the caller ID.
Keep your personal number private · Works on the iPhone you have · No per-user fees
Yes. A business phone service places the call using your business number, so the customer sees that number instead of your personal one. With Numberline, you open the app on the iPhone you already own, choose the customer, and place the call. The app makes the call over the internet, not through your carrier line, which is why it can show the business number. Your iPhone, your carrier, and your personal number all stay exactly as they are.
Hiding your caller ID is not the same thing. The iPhone setting that turns off Show My Caller ID only withholds your personal number, so the customer sees no number at all and has nothing to call back. It never replaces your personal number with a business number. For the wider picture of keeping business and personal communication apart, see how a second phone number for your business works.
Numberline runs in an app on the phone you already carry. Nothing changes in your carrier settings.
Personal calls keep coming and going as usual. Customers only ever see the business number.
A local or toll-free number, or one you bring. It is the caller ID on every call you place from the app.
Three steps, all on the iPhone you already have.
Choose a local or toll-free number, or bring an eligible business number you already use. Porting details are shared when your setup opens.
Open the Numberline app and pick the customer from your calls, texts, voicemail, or contacts, or enter their number.
Tap Call in Numberline. Your customer sees your business number, and your personal number stays private.
When a customer calls your business number and you miss it, the missed call, voicemail, or text is waiting in the Numberline app. Return it from there and the customer sees your business number.
Calls made from your personal cellular line show your personal number. To call using your Numberline business number, start the call in Numberline.
This is how freelancers and consultants keep a personal number private, and how real estate agents call buyers back between showings.
The customer calls the business number they saw. Numberline answers with your greeting, then forwards the call to your iPhone or to the people you choose, following the forwarding rules and business hours you set.
If nobody answers, the call goes to your Numberline business voicemail. Numberline provides separate business voicemail with your business greeting. Messages left there are recorded, transcribed, and emailed to you, and you can return the call from the app.
Your business number is what Numberline sends as the caller ID, and it is what the customer’s phone shows. That part is consistent on every call you place from the app.
A business name next to the number is a separate thing. Whether a name appears, and which name, is decided by the receiving carrier and the customer’s device, not by the phone that placed the call. Numberline does not promise that a name will show. If the customer has saved your business number in their contacts, their phone shows the name they saved.
A business number with its own greeting, voicemail, and routing, and every call you place from the app shows that number.
